教化眾生而起於空　以三約三脫明法施。肇曰。存眾生則乖空義。存空義則捨眾生善通法相虛空。其懷者終日化眾生終日不乖空也。

"Teaching and transforming sentient beings while arousing [the realization of] emptiness." This explains the Dharma-gift by means of the three gates of liberation. Zhao says: To preserve [the notion of] sentient beings contradicts the meaning of emptiness; to preserve the meaning of emptiness abandons sentient beings. One who skillfully comprehends the characteristics of dharmas and empties his mind transforms sentient beings all day long yet never contradicts emptiness throughout the entire day.
