“He further attains hundreds of thousands of myriads of koṭis of revolving dhāraṇīs, and further sees widely hundreds of thousands of myriads of koṭis of immeasurable Buddhas. These World-Honoured Ones each extend their right hands to stroke the practitioner's head, saying: ‘Excellent, excellent, practitioner of the Mahāyāna, one who arouses the mind of great adornment, one who is mindful of the Mahāyāna! In the past, when we first aroused the bodhicitta, we too were just like you, diligent and unwavering. Because in past lives we practiced the Mahāyāna, we have now achieved the pure body of the Samyaksaṃbuddha. You now should also cultivate diligently without remiss. This Mahāyāna scripture is the treasure-house of the Buddhas, the eyes of the Buddhas of the ten directions and the three times, and that which gives birth to the seed of all the Tathāgatas of the three times. One who upholds this sūtra upholds the body of the Buddha and carries out the work of the Buddha. You should know that this person is an emissary sent by the Buddhas, covered by the robes of the Buddhas, the World-Honoured Ones, and a true Dharma-child of the Buddhas, the Tathāgatas. Practicing the Mahāyāna, you will not cut off the seed of the Dharma. You must now carefully contemplate the Buddhas of the eastern direction.’
