“For one who recites the names of the Buddhas, burns incense, scatters flowers, arouses the Mahāyāna aspiration, hangs silk banners and canopies, speaks of the faults of the eyes, and repents their sins, this person in the present life will see Śākyamuni Buddha and see the immeasurable emanation Buddhas, and for asaṃkhyeya kalpas will not fall into the evil destinies—due to the power of the Mahāyāna and the vows of the Mahāyāna—constantly serving as a retinue together with all dhāraṇī bodhisattvas. To hold this mindfulness is right mindfulness; if one holds other thoughts, it is called wrong mindfulness. This is called the preliminary experiential sign of the eye faculty.
