The Daśādhyāya-vinaya's karman text for distributing the property of a deceased monk: 'Let the venerable saṃgha listen. Monk so-and-so has died. As for all the light property for life-sustenance belonging to this monk, whether robes or non-robes, which are goods that the saammukhībhūta-saṃgha ought to distribute, by karman let them be given to monk so-and-so. If the time has arrived for the saṃgha, let the saṃgha grant permission. Monk so-and-so has died. As for all the light property for life-sustenance belonging to this monk, whether robes or non-robes, which are goods that the saammukhībhūta-saṃgha ought to distribute, by karman let them be given to monk so-and-so. Such is the jñapti. Let the venerable saṃgha listen. When monk so-and-so died, all the light property for life-sustenance belonging to this monk, whether robes or non-robes, were goods that the saammukhībhūta-saṃgha ought [to distribute]. By karman let them be given to monk so-and-so. If the elders consent, remain silent; if you do not consent, speak! Monk so-and-so has died. All his light property for life-sustenance, whether robes or non-robes, were goods that the saammukhībhūta-saṃgha ought to distribute. The saṃgha has by karman given them to monk so-and-so. The saṃgha consents because it remains silent. Thus is this matter maintained.' If the karman is to give the property to the gilānopasthāyaka, it is the same as the text above, with the only difference being that it says 'give to the gilānopasthāyaka so-and-so' and refers to the six requisites. The procedure performed by three persons is largely identical to that of the Caturvargika-vinaya.
