"Venerable Sir, is a single-leaved palāśa [tree] one jīva or many jīvas?"
In this way, the entire exposition of the water lily chapter should be spoken, with this difference: the body's spatial extension is at minimum an innumerable part of an aṅgula, at maximum a few gavyūtis; they are not reborn from among celestial beings.
Regarding lesyās: "Venerable Sir, are those jīvas of black lesyā, blue lesyā, or grey lesyā?"
"Gautama, [they are] of black lesyā, or blue lesyā, or grey lesyā—there are twenty-six combinations; the rest is just the same."
"That is so, Venerable Sir! That is so, Venerable Sir!"
