"From where, Venerable Sir, are plant-bodied beings reborn?" Thus the chapter is similar to that of earth-bodied beings, with the distinction that: when a plant-bodied being is reborn among plant-bodied beings, then in the first, second, fourth, and fifth variations, the quantity is that at every moment, without interruption, infinite beings are reborn.
In terms of rebirths, at the minimum two rebirths, at the maximum infinite rebirths. In terms of time, at the minimum two antarmuhūrtas, at the maximum an infinite time; for so much time it may experience [this], for so much time it may undergo transmigration. The remaining five variations have eight rebirths, exactly so, with the distinction that one should understand the lifespan duration and the saṃvedha.
"That is so, Venerable Sir! That is so, Venerable Sir!"
