sakhīnām apy āsyā-rahita-samaye yat praṇayinoḥ
parīrambhārambhāt prabala-sukha-mūrcchā samajani |
tayos tāṃ vicchetuṃ param ahaha nānā-vilasita-
pratīkṣā supteva svayam atha jajāgāra paritaḥ || [śikhariṇī]

When, even in the absence of the presence of female friends, an intense swoon of bliss / arose from the beginning of the two lovers' embrace, / alas, only the anticipation of various playful sports, as if asleep, / awakened all around of its own accord to break their [trance]. ||
