kathita-samaye'pi harir ahaha na yayau vanam |
mama viphalam idam amala-rūpam api yauvanam ||

Even at the appointed time, alas, Hari has not come to the forest;
this flawless beauty of mine and my youth are in vain.

'Tis time!--he comes not!--will he come?
Can he leave me thus to pine?
Yami hê kam sharanam!
Ah! what refuge then is mine?
