bhaja tāṃ mahiṣottamāṅgasaṃsthāṃ navadūrvāsadṛśī śriye'stu durgā ||
Om. Of this great mantra of Vanadurgā, Īśvara in the form of a Kirāta is the seer; / anuṣṭubh is the metre; the Inner Controller Nārāyaṇa, Īśvara, Vanadurgā, and Gāyatrī are the deity; duṃ is the seed-syllable; svāhā is the power; klīṃ is the pin. The ritual application is in recitation for the attainment of the grace of Vanadurgā for me, [and] for the sake of dharma, artha, kāma, and mokṣa. One should perform three pervasive nyāsas with the root mantra. Hrīṃ—thus three pervasive nyāsas. / Om Haṃsinī hrāṃ, with both thumbs, in the heart. / Om Śikhinī hrīṃ, with both index fingers, in the head. / Om Cakriṇī hrūṃ, with both middle fingers, in the topknot. / Om Triśūladhāriṇī hraiṃ, with both ring fingers, armour. / Om Padminī hrauṃ, with both little fingers, in the eyes. / Om Gadinī hraḥ, with the palms and backs of the hands, weapon. / Om, bhūr bhuvaḥ svar om—thus the bounding of the directions. / Now the meditation visualization: / Holding discus, conch, sword, shield, arrows, bow, trident, and pointing finger, / worship her who stands upon the head of Mahiṣa, resembling fresh dūrvā grass; may Durgā bring prosperity!

Strike, strike down those who cause misfortune! Cleave through misfortune-makers; by the tip of the circle of fire-flames of snakes, owls, crows, herons, doves, and scorpions, and through the ninefold ash of the cremation ground against all disturbances caused by others, paralyze the evil speech of diagrams, tantras, and others controlling others, and grant victory in assembly, blū phaṭ phaṭ oṃ namo mahāvidyāyai svāhā!
