八、事法即理門，謂緣起事法必無自性，無自性故，舉體即真。故說眾生即如，不待滅也。以波動相舉，體即水故，無異相也。

Eighth is the gate of phenomenal entities being identical to principle, which means that phenomena of pratītyasamutpāda are necessarily devoid of self-nature; because they are devoid of self-nature, their whole substance is identical to truth. Therefore it is said that sentient beings are identical to tathatā without waiting for their cessation. Since the moving characteristics of waves are entirely identical in substance to water, there are no different characteristics.
