【功德直】西域人。道契既廣，善誘日新。宋大明年，到荊州，為釋玄暢翻譯。暢刊正文義，詞旨婉密。舒手出香，掌中流水，莫之測也。

[Guṇarju?] A man of the Western Regions. The accord of his path was broad, and his skill in guiding others was renewed daily. In the Daming era of the Song, he reached Jingzhou, and translated for Shi Xuanchang. Chang edited and corrected the text and meaning, making the phrasing graceful and precise. He would stretch out his hand and produce fragrance, and water flowed from his palm; no one could fathom him.
