"Venerable Sir! In the innumerable hundreds of thousands of abodes of earth-bodied beings, how many lifespan duration-positions are declared for earth-bodied beings in each single abode of earth-bodied beings?"
"Gautama! Innumerable lifespan duration-positions are declared, namely: the minimum lifespan duration up to its corresponding maximum lifespan duration."
"Venerable Sir! In the innumerable hundreds of thousands of abodes of earth-bodied beings, in each single abode of earth-bodied beings, are the earth-bodied beings existing with the minimum lifespan duration engaged with anger? Engaged with pride? Engaged with deceit? Engaged with greed?"
"Gautama! They are also engaged with anger, also engaged with pride, also engaged with deceit, also engaged with greed."
In this way, for earth-bodied beings, in all positions there are no combinations, with this distinction: in te悍leśyā there are eighty combinations.
So also for water-bodied beings.
For fire-bodied beings and air-bodied beings, in all positions there are no combinations.
Plant-bodied beings are as earth-bodied beings.
