"Gautama! It is not kṛtayugma, not tryoja, not dvāparayugma; it is kalyoja. Likewise also an inhabitant of hell; likewise up to a liberated soul."
"Venerable Sir, are souls, in terms of substance, kṛtayugma—" [the query]?
"Gautama! In general terms (oghādeśena), they are kṛtayugma, not tryoja, not dvāparayugma, not kalyoja; in specific terms (vidhānādeśena), they are not kṛtayugma, not tryoja, not dvāparayugma, [but] kalyoja."
"Venerable Sir, inhabitants of hell, in terms of substance—" [the query].
"Gautama! In general terms, they are sometimes kṛtayugma up to sometimes kalyoja; in specific terms, they are not kṛtayugma, not tryoja, not dvāparayugma, [but] kalyoja. Likewise up to liberated souls."

"Gautama! With reference to the space-points of the soul, it is kṛtayugma, not tryoja, not dvāparayugma, not kalyoja. With reference to the space-points of the body, it is sometimes kṛtayugma up to sometimes kalyoja. Likewise up to a vaimānika."
"Venerable Sir, is a liberated soul, in terms of space-points, kṛtayugma—" [the query]?
"Gautama! It is kṛtayugma, not tryoja, not dvāparayugma, not kalyoja."
