2.7.28

ramayati sudṛśam kāmapi subhṛśam khala-haladhara-sodare /
kim aphalam avasam ciram iha virasam vada sakhi viṭapa-udare //
ramate yamunā-pulina-vane vijayī murāriḥ adhunā //

While the brother of Haladhara, so deceitful, greatly delights another lovely-eyed woman,
tell me, confidante, why do I remain in vain and without joy for so long here in the hollow of the thicket?
Triumphant Murāri now revels in the forest on the banks of the Yamunā.
