akṣṇoḥ nikṣipat-añjanam śravaṇayoḥ tāpiccha-guccha-āvalīm
mūrdhni śyāma-saroja-dāma kucayoḥ kastūrikā-patrakam /
dhūrtānām abhisāra-satvara-hṛdām viṣvak-nikuñje sakhi
dhvāntam nīla-nicola-cāru sudṛśām prati-aṅgam āliṅgati //

Casting collyrium upon their eyes, clusters of tāpiccha blooms on their ears, / a garland of dark lotuses on their heads, and musk-leaf patterns on their breasts, / the darkness, like a lovely blue cloak, embraces limb by limb / the beautiful women whose hearts hasten to the amorous rendezvous with their artful lovers all around the arbor, O friend.
